  • Vegetable Oil for cooking 
  • 1 ½  cup of ground sausage meat 
  • 4-5 White Eggs, you can also use organic or brown eggs 
  • 1 ½ tbsp of onion powder 
  • 1 tbsp of Rosemary salt 
  • 1 tsp of mace
  • 1 tbsp of ginger powder 
  • 1 tsp of nutmeg 
  • 5-6 garlic, finely minced
  • 1-2 tbsp of mustard sauce
  • ½ cup of green onions, finely chopped 
  • 1 cup of Bread crumbs 
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour 
  • Salt and White pepper as per taste 

Scotch Eggs Recipe – Full Details!

  1. For this tasty egg snack recipe, in a medium-sized bowl, add ground pork or ground sausage, then add minced garlic, green onions and mustard sauce into the meat mix. 
  2. Mix everything once and then add the other seasonings. For this particular scotch eggs recipe, we have used onion powder, nutmeg, mace, ginger powder, and rosemary salt to season the meat mixture. 
  3. You can also add a bit of salt and white pepper to your sausage mix. Definitely keep a check on your salt, rosemary salt is totally optional, if you want you can skip it. 
  4. Mix everything together with a spatula, the more flavors you have in the meat mix, the more flavorful your egg snack will be. 

  1. Next, move on to the hard-boiled eggs. In a pan, add water and release your eggs, cook the eggs for at least 11 to 12 minutes. Once your eggs are cooked, immediately put them in an ice bath and then start peeling off the egg shells. 
  2. Now, on a flat surface, spread out your seasoned sausage mix on top of a clean wrap and right in the center of it, place the hard-boiled egg. Repeat the same step and make 3 oval-shaped scotch eggs. 
  3. Now, in a bowl, put all-purpose flour and keep aside. Next, in another bowl, crack in two eggs, whisk it for a while and season it with a bit of salt and pepper. On the other hand, on a plate spread out the bread crumbs and start coating the scotch eggs.
