Caramel Apple Cider Cookies – Steps To Follow

Step 1

Heat up a pan and pour in the whole cup of apple cider. We will simmer this on medium to low heat until the cider is reduced. If you are taking one cup of apple cider, then reduce it down to about a quarter.

Step 2

Next, in a bowl, add all-purpose flour, nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder, baking powder, salt and baking soda. With the help of a hand whisk, mix everything together until properly combined and keep aside.

Step 3

Moving on to the wet ingredients, in a separate bowl, add regular sugar, brown sugar and softened unsalted butter. Use an electric whisk to combine it all and then crack in the eggs and whisk again.

Step 4

Next, pour the reduced version of apple cider into the wet ingredients bowl. At the same time, also add apple sauce and vanilla extract to the bowl. Whisk all the wet ingredients until properly combined.

Step 5

Now, transfer the all-purpose flour mix to the bowl where you have combined all your wet ingredients. With the help of a spatula, make a cookie dough. Feel free to increase or decrease the quantity of dry ingredients.

Step 6

Last but not least, it’s time to make the apple cider cookies. Place a parchment paper on your baking tray and start scooping out small portions from your prepared cookie dough. Put a caramel bite right at the center of each small cookie dough and then freeze this for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 7

Once all the cookies have cooled down a bit, round them up like small balls and then dunk them in a bowl of cinnamon sugar. Place it all again on the baking tray and bake it at 350 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes! Enjoy these crunchy caramel Apple Cider Cookies with a cup of hot chocolate.
