While, our second recipe for the day is Mango sticky rice, a delish and luscious combination of mango and rice. We all know that this flavorsome mango dessert recipe first originated in the country of Thailand and then spread worldwide.
- Inspiration – Mango sago is very much inspired by the original dessert recipe of Hong Kong, which is Mango Pomelo Sago! The only difference in our recipe is, that we are not using pomelo here, thus, the citrus flavor won’t be present in our dessert. Meanwhile, sources do say that Mango sticky rice is inspired by a famous Indian dessert which is mainly prepared with rice, jaggery and milk.

- ¾ Full-fat Coconut milk
- ¼ cup of condensed milk
Mango Sago Recipe – Steps To Follow
Step 1
To prepare this mango dessert recipe, firstly, let us cook our tapioca pearls. Let it simmer in hot water for a total of 10 minutes and stir it continuously to ensure that the pearls don’t stick to the bottom of the pan.
Step 2
Once the tapioca pearls have cooked, turn off the heat, cover your pot with a lid and wait for 3 minutes. After 3 minutes, properly rinse these tapioca pearls with cold water, strain them all and keep them aside.
Step 3
Moving on to the preparation of the mango base! Take out your blender and add freshly cut mango chunks, condensed milk and full-fat coconut milk to the blending jar. Blend it until smooth and creamy.
Step 4
In a bowl, pour in the mango mix and also add the tapioca pearls. Let those soft and chewy bubbles of tapioca pearls soak in the mango mix for 15 to 20 minutes! Keep the bowl in the freezer and let it chill for a while. Lastly, serve your delicious Mango sago in a fancy glass, and garnish it with some fresh mango chunks.

- Glutinous Rice i.e. sticky rice
- 1 cup of coconut milk
- ½ cup of palm sugar
- A pinch of salt

Mango Sticky Rice Recipe – Steps To Follow
Step 1
First thing first, let us cook our glutinous rice. Wash the rice properly and then put your measured quantity of rice in the rice cooker, set the timer and cook until they become all sticky and soft.
Step 2
Next, in a pan, add coconut milk, palm sugar and a bit of salt. Keep the flame between medium to low and let this reduce. Stir it once in a while to ensure that your coconut sauce is not burnt.
Step 3
We are looking for a smooth coconut sauce consistency here! Once your sauce is ready and thickened, take out a small portion of this coconut sauce and keep it aside!
Step 4
Now, in the same pan, where you have kept your leftover coconut sauce, add the sticky rice! Allow the rice to soak up the hot coconut sauce and mix it all together until properly combined.
Step 5
Next, prepare the mangoes, peel off the skin and slice them up beautifully! You can also make a small petal out of the mango slices. On a fancy plate, serve the coconut rice and the mango slices. To finish it off, drizzle your prepared coconut sauce over the sticky rice!
