● 1.5 pounds of Rigatoni Pasta

● 2 large Garlic Clove slices

● 180 gm bag of Baby Spinach

● A cup of grated Parmesan Cheese 

● 2 tablespoons of fresh Lemon Juice

● A cup of fresh Basil

● Freshly ground Black Pepper 

● 1/4 teaspoon of Kosher Salt 

● 1/3 cup Virgin Olive Oil 

● 1/5 teaspoon of Red Pepper Flakes 

Healthy Pasta Sauce Recipe: A Step-by-step Guide Only For You 

Step 1

First and foremost, we need to take a large pot for cooking the pasta and another container for boiling the spinach. Clean the two of them thoroughly before using them for cooking the recipe. Place them under running water, wipe and take out any dirt that’s accumulated in the containers. In the end, wipe all the moisture off with a dry Kitchen towel.

Step 2

Pour salted water into the large pot and place it over medium high heat. Wait till the water starts to boil. On the other hand, take a glass bowl and pour ice cold water into it. You can include ice cubes too. When water starts boiling, add Basil and Spinach of Healthy Pasta Sauce into it. For 30 seconds cook the green leaves and remove them.

Step 3

Take a slotted spoon, and carefully transfer the spinach and basil into the bowl of ice bath immediately. Set this aside and please proceed with other steps of the recipe. In the remaining boiling water in the pan from before, we will now cook the pasta first. Turn the heat down to medium low and add the pasta directly into the salted water. 

Step 4

Step 6

With a strainer, drain pasta completely from water and place it in a large pan. Don’t throw the water away, reserve the pasta water in a cup and set it aside first. Turn the heat on and cook the pasta lightly for some time. For best results, cook this in a large non stick pan at medium high heat.

Step 7

Pour some prepared sauce over the pasta and give this whole thing a nice stir. Take a wooden spoon and make sure the pasta is getting uniformly coated with the green sauce. Add the reserved pasta water with spoon till you are getting the well required consistency of the gravy.
