Step 1

At first we will have to make the sauce of this recipe. So, clean it thoroughly before you start to combine ingredients. Please make sure you do not leave, take a medium-sized suspense and a wet surface behind after cleaning. Pour in the Soy Sauce, Japanese Rice Wine (Mirin), and water first. Start whisking this slowly, and do not turn on the heat yet.

Step 2

Include Sugar, Cornstarch, Ginger and Garlic into the pan. Lastly, top it up by pouring the Rice Vinegar. These are all authentic Yakitori Ingredients of our recipe. Now, put this pan over a medium heat and start whisking this thoroughly. Since we are adding corn starch and sugar together we have to make sure that there are no lumps left behind.

Step 3

Shortly you will start a notice that the mixture is coming close to a boil. Even when it happens please continue whisking the entire mixture. If the sauce is really thickening in texture keep combining the ingredients thoroughly for a minute or two. Once it happens please transfer a part of the mixture to a small bowl with the help of a wooden spoon.

Step 4

This will help us for basting the Yakitori chicken. We will advise you not to use wooden skies or otherwise you will have to dip them in the water for sometime. Cut your chicken properly so that you will be able to thread the pieces on the skewers. Make sure you are doing this step correctly otherwise the pieces might come lose while cooking.

Step 5

Afterward, take salt and paper and sprinkle upon the chicken on both sides. When you are done seasoning please you some oil and rabbit on the sides of the skews so that they don’t stick while cooking. Preheat your Yakitori Grill to a medium-high setting first. Before you put anything inside you can use with paper towels to clean the inside of the grill. Be careful about anything sticking to the sides of the grill gates.

Step 6

Add the Bamboo Skewers once the grill is properly heated. For the next 4 to 5 minutes you will have to cook the chicken properly. When one side gets cooked flip and coat it with the sauce. After the brownish side is done, flip it and bat with sauce and cook for at least 3 minutes. Please cover the entire thing while you are trying to cook the chicken.
