Gochujang sauce recipe Now for most of you, while you order from your local Asian joint, and you need to add some more flavors to your stew or soup, or be it your spring rolls, the first name that comes to your mind is Gochujang sauce. Today we will teach you how to make Gochujang sauce. You will be getting the same authentic spicy Gochujang sauce taste with this recipe, and we can assure you that it is going to be much better than your store-bought Gochujang sauce. Ingredients(for Gochujang sauce) 1/4th cup of Gochujang Korean Chilli paste, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or sugar or honey, 2-3 tablespoons of sesame oil, 1/4th cup of soy sauce. Ingredients(for Gochujang paste) 1/4th cup of Gochugaru (Korean red chili pepper flakes), 1/3 cup of water, 2 tablespoons Honey, 3 tablespoons of red Miso Paste(there is no alternative for this particular ingredient it has to be the red one), one and a half tablespoon of Sake(it can be either drinking Sake or the cooking one, doesn’t matter), one teaspoon of rice vinegar(to balance all the ingredients), and finally a little bit of salt(it will be completely depending on the makers taste, as the miso base already has its own saltiness) Steps 1  It’s not quite a complicated recipe, but the main complexity comes our way when we have to source the ingredients. Now make sure for Gochujang paste you are getting the Gochugaru kind of chili paper flakes, as well as the red miso paste. Now after measuring out all the mentioned ingredients, we will be taking a medium-sized, pot in which we will be adding in our Gochugaru(Korean Chilli pepper flakes), honey, water, and the red miso paste. Then we will let it boil for a while on medium heat while stirring it every once in a while. Step 2 Finally, when the entire mixture turns bubbling, get it off the heat and let it cool down until unless it reaches the normal room temperature. Finally, you will mix in the rest of the ingredients for Gochujang paste, and transfer it to an air-tight container or glass jar, which you will store in your refrigerator for about a month which will give you the exact fermented taste that comes with stored bought Gochujang paste.  Step 3 Now comes the Gochujang sauce, it is absolutely not difficult you take 1/4th cup of the Gochujang paste, that you had made earlier, then mix in the other ingredients that have been mentioned for the Gochujang sauce recipe in a small bowl, you can add a bit more of Gochujang Paste if you want to make it extra spicy, and also the quantity of water can be altered to get the right consistency that you want. Finally, it is already to accompany your bibimbap or go into your ramen.  Now as we have already mentioned, it is a simple recipe on its own but the difficult part is Sourcing the ingredients. Gochugaru can be ordered online, if not available in your local supermarket, and the red miso paste can also be collected in the same manner. Finally, with this recipe, you have your no-preservatives added Gochujang sauce recipe, which is a much healthier option for your family, and at the same time you can alter certain ingredients in your recipe depending on your need.
