Gluten Free Pumpkin Waffles: Are Pumpkin Waffles Healthy?

Everybody loves waffles, especially when they are craving for a sweet breakfast menu. But, what do you know about this particular dish?

● The Greeks first discovered the idea of cooking pancakes between hot iron plates, but they were far from modern Waffles.

● In the 9th and 10th Centuries, France and Belgium started making waffles using Gaufriers with wooden handles. The surface often carried religious symbols and scriptures.

● The world first spotted Belgian Waffles in the 1962 World’s Fair in Seattle. Their sale started to skyrocket slowly in the 1964 World Fair mainly.

Catholic Churches in Medieval Europe first started serving waffles, which were far away from modern Pumpkin Waffles. They made them in cross shapes, religious markings, and Biblical scenes to indicate blessings.

Are Pumpkin Waffles healthy? Absolutely yes. Contrary to other desserts or sweet desserts, they are lower in calorie. The gluten free option is preferred by a large portion of the youth nowadays.

Since the ingredients that you can see are totally dairy free and gluten free, vegans can also include this in their breakfast. We would not recommend you to freeze the waffles after preparing. The best way to have them is by eating them while they are still warm enough.

This recipe does not take more than than 20 to 25 minutes for preparing the waffles. These delicious pumpkin treats are fluffy soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. With a slight hint of spice, the waffles get more enjoyable for your sudden cravings.

Easy Pumpkin Waffles Recipe: A Step-by-step Guide For You

Step – 1

Firstly, take a large glass bowl and pour in granulated sugar, canned pumpkin, eggs, vegetable oil and start mixing. For best results, you can use a handheld blender. After sometime, include the pumpkin pie spice, ground cinnamon, and salt. Once you have mixed it properly, top this with Vanilla Extract.

Step – 2

Once you have mixed all these ingredients properly, add Pillsbury gluten free flour to make the Pumpkin Waffles batter. While mixing it, pour in the baking powder as well as the Xanthan Gum into the bowl. You must be careful and look out for unnecessary lumps while mixing these ingredients with the mixer.

Step – 3

Next, to make the batter a bit thicker, we will now pour in the dairy free almond milk or coconut milk. Once you are done mixing it properly, finally the batter is ready. Start heating up your waffle iron now. Before you pour in the mix, carefully read the instructions manual.

Step – 4

Once your waffle iron is fully hot and ready to cook Pumpkin Waffles, spray it with gluten free cooking spray. This step will be necessary every time you make a brand new waffle. Take an ice cream scoop to pour the batter uniformly and cook according to manual.

Step – 5

Take the waffle out carefully with caution since the iron will stay hot for a longer period of time. Serve the warm waffles on a plate and enjoy with honey or a scoop of Vegan ice cream along with it.
