Although we have used pork here, in the Korean cuisine, many chefs use beef too. Galbi Jjim is a type of Korean dish with short breasted pork ribs that is made with Galbi. It is a Korean Traditional dish that is probably one of the most popular dishes in the a lot of the Korean restaurants. 

We have used all the best and authentic ingredients in the Galbi Jjim Recipe. If you follow all the methods properly, you will get your ribs with a slightly smoked flavor after cooking. With this amount, you will be able to serve it to at least 3 to 4 people, all medium sized portions. 

Ingredients We Need For This Dish:

Soy Sauce, the regular ones that have the regular sodium amount in them. Otherwise, low sodium soy sauce can make the dish taste under seasoned.

Onions, for adding the onion flavor to the braise and some amount of spice. Also, it adds a bit of sweetness.

Pork Riblets, the main ingredient of the Galbi Jjim Recipe here. We have used the long 1 to 2 inch pieces for our dish here.

How To Make Galbi Jjim Recipe? A Complete Step-by-step Guide For You 

Step 1

Firstly, we need to marinate the pork ribs properly. For this, start mixing Brown Rice, Shaoxing Rice Wine, Soy Sauce, Apple, Pepper, Garlic and Ginger. Once you are done mixing these in a food blender into a smooth blend, take a medium glass bowl. Pour the marinade mixture and the pork ribs into the bowl.

Step 2

Secondly, start tossing all the ribs of the Galbi Jjim. Keep mixing it until all the ribs are getting coated with the blend you have prepared. If you have enough time, keep the mixture aside throughout the night. Otherwise, 1.5 to 2 hours will be enough for marination.

Step 3 

Next, take a medium pot and pour in the marinated pork ribs into it. Take the carrots, Russet potatoes, and the onions over the ribs evenly. Start cooking the dish over a medium heat and continue till the pork ribs come to a boil. For this Galbi Jjim Recipe, you will need to continue till simmer.

Step 4

Afterwards, take up a lid up and cover the pan; after 1 hour, you will notice that the pork ribs are becoming tender. Keep stirring the vegetables until you can cook it properly. Soon, you will notice the braising liquid getting thicker after you will remove the lid. 

Step 5

Once you get the proper consistency, keep your sauce at a simmer. Now, your Galbi Jjim Recipe is almost ready. Slowly remove the pork ribs from the medium pot once they are properly cooked. Season the dish with freshly sliced green onions, let it cool for sometime, and serve with steamed rice.
